Roasted Mix Nuts

While everyone is glued to the television tonight for the College Football National Championship, you can have a snack in front of them that is perfectly balanced between sweet and salty.

Transform an ordinary can of mixed nuts to a feast with this easy recipe. Roasting them in a low temperature oven is super simple and the mixture even gets better if allowed to sit for a couple of hours before serving. It’s the perfect way to go nuts over your favorite team!

Roasted Mixed Nuts

Yield: 12 servings

3 cups mixed nuts

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Spread the nuts on a rimmed baking sheet. In a small bowl, whisk together the oil and remaining ingredients. Pour over the nuts and stir to evenly coat. Roast for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature before serving.
